As summer rolls along and we get closer to fall, Myrtle Beach still offers a great schedule of events to check out on your vacation! From food-centric celebrations to live music showcases, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during your stay. Here are some of the best events to attend during your upcoming Myrtle Beach getaway.

54th Annual World Championship Chili Cook-Off

Bring your appetite for food and fun and visit the 54th Annual World Championship Chili Cook-Off, taking place Friday September 17th through Sunday September 19th. The competition will occur at Burroughs & Chapin Pavilion Place, right in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Competitive cooks from over 40 states are expected to attend and stake their claim as the supreme chili chef in the world. Admission to the event is free, but guests can purchase a variety of ticket options to sample chilis, lounge in the VIP area and even become a certified chili tasting judge! The Cook-Off will also host a classic car cruise-in, chicken wing and hot pepper eating contests, beer garden and live music. A Family Fun Zone area will offer great games and activities for kids, and aspiring young chefs can even take part in the Pepper Sprouts Cooking Class where they will learn the art of making chili (ticket purchase required).

2021 Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival

The Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival returns after a one year hiatus, with this year marking the 46th installment of one of the top art showcases along the east coast. Scores of remarkably talented artists and creators will be featured, with their works of art displayed among the gorgeous grounds of Atalaya castle. In addition to the art displays, live music from some of the area’s top musicians will be featured throughout. A food court will offer guests a plethora of lowcountry favorites, including fresh local seafood and barbecue. The festival takes place from Friday September 24th to Sunday September 26th. Three-day passes are only $15 and can be purchased online or at the entrance on the days of the festival.

Rock the Beach at Hard Rock Cafe

Live music fans and animal lovers won’t want to miss the Rock the Beach festival taking place at Hard Rock Cafe Friday September 24th and Saturday September 25th. This two-day event will feature live music and auctions with proceeds benefiting the Grand Strand Humane Society. Things kick off at 5 PM on Friday with a collectible pin trading gathering, raffle prizes, cocktails and dinner, all leading up to live music at 8 PM. On Saturday the fun continues bright and early at 8 AM with a variety of auctions selling off unique items and collectibles. A breakfast will be served at 10 AM and more raffles and auctions will be held until 3 PM.
