Visit Little River for the 37th Annual Blue Crab Festival

20 Apr 2018   |   By: Chauncey Smith

With miles and miles of beautiful beaches, tons of golf and nearly endless entertainment, there's ever a bad time for a Myrtle Beach vacation. But on the weekend of May 19th and 20th, one of the Grand Strand's biggest festival returns as the 37th Annual Blue Crab Festival takes place on the historic Little River waterfront. Whether you're a fan of delicious local seafood, live music or great arts and crafts, this festival truly has something for everyone.

Little River is situated on the northern end of North Myrtle Beach and the area's waterfront has always been a favorite destination for locals. The area is well-known for great restaurants and serves as the biggest launching point for fishing charters along the Grand Strand. If you've visited Myrtle Beach before but never been to Little River, you absolutely have to visit this laid back community, even more so during the Blue Crab Festival. This year's festival is sure to continue the tradition of two days of non-stop fun.

So what exactly can you expect when you attend the Blue Crab Festival? Well, for starters, a tremendous array of local seafood selections provided by Little River area restaurants. Local favorites like Buzz's Roost, Key West Crazy and Captain Juel's Hurricane Restaurant will be offering tantalizing fresh seafood delicacies, showcasing dishes featuring the namesake of the festival, blue crab. If you consider yourself a foodie, you'd be doing yourself a disservice by missing out on all the amazing culinary offerings at the Blue Crab Festival!

On top of the huge selection of fresh seafood, the Blue Crab will feature a packed schedule of live music and entertainment over the two day festival. The sounds of beach music will fill the air daily with acts like the Carolina Soul Band and Jim Quick and Coastline will be jamming out beach favorites, putting everyone in a tropical frame of mind. On Saturday from 8 AM to 4 PM guests can check out immaculately-restored classic automobiles and muscle cars at the Blue Crab Car Show, offering big prizes to the winners of the show and a 50/50 raffle to show goers. The Blue Crab Festival will also feature a kids area with tons of games and activities.

All this food, fun and entertainment is available to guests for only a $5 admission fee with kids 12 and under able to enter free. Guests can even purchase advance tickets for only $4.
