Monday After the Masters: Golf with the Pros and Stars
Chauncey Smith | 25 Jan 2018
As any golfer or golf fan knows, the most prestigious tournament every year takes place during the first week in April at The Masters at Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia. But once the competition concludes and the green jacket is awarded, the attention shifts to North Myrtle Beach and Barefoot Resort where Darius Rucker hosts the annual Monday After the Masters Celebrity Pro-Am.
Year in and out this is the most popular golf weekend along the Grand Strand, so make sure to book your Myrtle Beach golf package today so you don't miss out!
Since 1994, this fun-filled and star-studded tournament has become a favorite destination for travelling golfers and the perfect way to wrap up Masters week. The tournament began as a small get-together coordinated by Darius and the other members of Hootie and the Blowfish, Mark Bryan, Dean Felber and Jim Sonefeld.
Over the years, the tournament has grown exponentially, gaining coverage on ESPN with Mike and Mike taking part and covering the event the past few years. The tournament serves as the chief fundraising event for the Hootie and the Blowfish Foundation, which since 2000 has raised over $1.8 million to aid public education in South Carolina and assist underprivileged children throughout the state.
The group also serves the SC Junior Golf Association, helping young golfers develop their golf game and learn about sportsmanship and character.
Each year, the Monday After the Masters draws a tremendous list of PGA professionals and stars of sports and entertainment. This year's attendees will be announced on March 15th, but they are sure to be a who's-who of sport and entertainment standouts.
Past pro golfers who have played the event include Matt Kuchar, Jim Furyk, Nick Faldo, Craig Stadler, Annika Sorenstam and Fred Couples. Along with an outstanding group of PGA pros, amateurs from the world of sport and entertainment that have played include Jerome Bettis, John Elway, Brett Favre, Ric Flair, Samuel L. Jackson, Wayne Gretzky, Dan Marino, Bill Murray and Alice Cooper.
With such an amazing lineup of stars and proceeds benefiting a worthy cause, this year's tickets are sure to sell out in a flash!
